About this property

Welly Bob Cottage is a delightful reverse-level retreat tucked away in the scenic village of Airton, North Yorkshire. Perfect for families or friends, this welcoming escape welcomes pets and features rustic beams, a woodburning stove, a hot tub, an enclosed courtyard garden, and off-road parking for two cars. Step inside to find the two beautifully appointed ground-floor bedrooms. The king-size room offers a peaceful place to rest, while the secondary bedroom offers a double bed with single bunk, both bedrooms complete with a Smart TV, is ideal for children or extra adults. A sleek shower room with a walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC completes the lower level, which is perfect for getting ready in the mornings.

Upstairs, the spacious open-plan living area invites you to gather together. Unwind on the inviting sofa-bed or the two armchairs while watching the Smart TV, or enjoy the glow of the woodburning stove on cooler evenings. The fully equipped kitchen is ideal for preparing meals as it has an oven, hob and microwave. The adjacent dining table is perfect for sharing them alongside plenty of laughs with stories of tales from the past. Outside, the enclosed courtyard garden is a true highlight. Soak in the hot tub beneath the stars as you let the holiday vibe take over. Perhaps dine alfresco at the outdoor table when the sun is shining or simply unwind in the fresh country air with a book in hand while your dog explores safely.

Venture out of your calm retreat to explore the alluring landscapes of North Yorkshire. Marvel at the striking limestone amphitheatre of Malham Cove, discover the magical Janet's Foss waterfall, said to be home to the queen of the fairies, or challenge yourself to the exhilarating climb at Gordale Scar. If it's serenity you seek, pop over to the gentle cascades of Stainforth Force and the stunning Scaleber Force Waterfall, natural wonders not to be missed. Soak in the area's rich history at The Museum of North Craven Life, or head towards Skipton to stroll among the vibrant market stalls, offering a wealth of local produce and crafty treasures.

Skipton's dramatic 900-year-old castle offers a fascinating trip to the past, and don't miss out on the chance to explore the calm waterways on a Skipton Boat Trip. After your adventures, return to the warm embrace of Welly Bob Cottage. Your delightful Yorkshire adventure begins here.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
