This summary has been generated using feedback from guests who have stayed at this property

Manor Cottage in Northallerton is a charming property with spacious and comfortable accommodations, set in stunning, expansive gardens that are particularly appreciated by guests with dogs. The location offers easy access to the Yorkshire countryside, with some guests noting the convenience for exploring North Yorkshire attractions. While some guests have suggested improvements and reported maintenance issues, the overall experience is one of a delightful stay, with many expressing a desire to return.

Cleanliness

Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property to be spotless and well-maintained, while others reported issues with cleanliness in the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as with the outdoor furniture. The inconsistency in feedback suggests room for improvement.

Location

The property's location is generally praised for its beautiful rural setting and proximity to local attractions in North Yorkshire. The vast garden is a highlight, although some guests noted the presence of a nearby railway line. The location is not within easy walking distance to pubs, which was a minor drawback for some.

Comfort

Guests frequently describe the cottage as comfortable, with spacious bedrooms and living areas. The garden adds to the overall comfort by providing a secure space for pets and children. However, a few guests felt that the downstairs area could feel cramped with a full house, and some outdoor furniture was reported to be in need of replacement.

Facilities

The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen and utility room, though some guests mentioned that certain kitchen appliances and utensils could be updated or better maintained. The presence of a secure garden and BBQ were positives, but there were comments about the need for better garden furniture and minor repairs.

Thoughtfulness

Several guests were pleased with the thoughtful touches, such as welcome baskets, which contributed to a pleasant arrival experience. However, as these gifts are subject to change and may not be a consistent offering for all guests, they should be considered a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.

About this property

6 miles NW of Northallerton. Manor Cottage is a superb period cottage set in a quiet rural farming area in the tiny hamlet of Birkby just north of the bustling market town of Northallerton.
