We had a fabulous weekend at the Old Reading Room. It was much bigger than we'd anticipated, with all the bedrooms being in a separate part of the house joined up by the conservatory/entrance. The mezzanine level was really cool, not that we really used it, and the kitchen very well equipped. The woodburning stove was very cosy in the evenings too. Our only gripe was that the table football machine took our 50p but no balls came out...........! We'd love to come back for a longer stay, and explore the local area more.

It was our 8th visit we'd forgotten about one.We love it here, it's only 30 minutes from where we live. The place certainly has a charm and warmth that draws us to it, as well as the exceptional value it offers. It does have issues with it that I hope to be able address personally with owner.Lovely old building, very roomy and cosy.Wonderful location near lots of lovely places. It's in no way perfect but again for value for money you can't beat it.We will definitely be back. Hopefully issues that people have will be addressed, although to date some haven't, just going through the visitors book shows you this. This seems such a shame really because they're only little things, but the customer needs to be listened to and if they are and the these little things are acted upon then the feedback and ratings will be even better. We had a couple of visitors as we were going to Thimbleby shooting grounds they thought the cottage was amazing.

My friends and I had a lovely stay at the Old Reading Room. It's a beautiful home full of character and very comfortable. The added bonus of a wood burning stove made it very cosy and welcoming. The location was lovely and peaceful but with easy acces to the A1. Would definitely stay there again.
