Old Stone Cottage is a chic two-bedroom mid-terrace cottage in Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, perfect for couples or friends looking to spend quality time together. Ideally positioned close local amenities and well-furnished with everything you need for a relaxing, self-catered stay. Arriving at the cottage, the open-plan living space is a delightful area for sharing with your friends, home to a kitchen, a dining area, and a sitting area with a woodburning stove; the space is sure to be the social hub during your trip, where you can cook, eat, and unwind. When it is time to freshen up, the shower room is contemporary and sleek, with a walk-in shower so you can get ready in style. When you return and it is time to rest, head upstairs to the stylish bedrooms; the first bedroom contains a plush double bed, while the second bedroom also has a lovely king-size bed with a zip and link feature for a flexible sleeping arrangement. Outside, the rear patio is furnished with bistro chairs, so you have a perfect spot to relax and dine alfresco in those warmer months. Venture out and explore the area; Pateley Bridge is a small town, home to a selection of takeaway tea shops and art shops, as well as interesting attractions such as The Oldest Sweet Shop in The World, a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth, and the Nidderdale Museum is a wonderful place to learn about the local history and culture. There is also plenty of scenic walking and hiking trails in the area, making it the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Away from the local village, Grassington is a picturesque town renowned for its natural beauty. Visitors can explore the stunning Linton Falls (Wharfedale), Hebden Suspension Bridge, Threshfield Quarry and Grassington Folk Museum. Further afield, you will find the charming town of Harrogate, famous for its lush gardens and Victorian-era architecture. The town is a popular tourist destination and boasts a number of attractions including the RHS Garden Harlow Carr, Valley Gardens Harrogate, and Mother Shipton's Cave, as well as a variety of shops, restaurants, and pubs in the town centre. Pateley Bridge was voted Great Britain's Best Village High Street in 2016. The steep main street is lined with interesting shops, restaurants, bars, two award-winning butchers, a fishmonger, a bakery, and the oldest sweet shop in England. The nearby leisure centre has a swimming pool and the riverside park with children's play area is not to be missed. Craft Workshops and the award-winning Nidderdale Museum are also worth a visit. The Nidd Valley is also great for walking, cycling, and birdwatching.
