Built circa 1900, this pretty terraced holiday cottage provides thoughtfully designed and comfortable accommodation, right in the heart of one of North Yorkshire’s most popular market towns. With home comforts, Minton Cottage still manages to retain much of its traditional cottage charm and its cosy multi-fuel burner makes it the perfect base from which to enjoy a relaxing break. Ideal for couples or a small family, the cottage is just a few minutes’ walk from Masham’s vibrant town centre, which offers a good selection of pubs, cafés, restaurants, art galleries and some unique shops, including a good quality butchers and deli. There is also a tourist office in the market square which provides lots of information on local walks and attractions. Famous for its sheep fair and steam rally, Masham also has two breweries and holds a twice weekly market. Masham is located in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire’s Wensleydale and it was featured on the route for the 2014 Tour de France. Its proximity to the Yorkshire Dales make it ideal for those who like walking or cycling. Other activities available locally include fishing and golf, although for something completely different, why not try the cookery school at Swinton Park which is 2 miles away. Children will love Lightwater Valley, 6 miles, whilst adults may prefer unesco’s Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Gardens near Ripon, 10 miles, Harrogate, 22 miles, or Hawes, 26 miles, which is famous for its cheese. The historic city of York and the Yorkshire Moors are both reachable by car in under an hour. For those who want to leave their car behind, Masham operates bus services to popular towns such as Leyburn, Richmond and Ripon as well as serving some of the areas’ popular attractions such as Bolton Castle (seasonal).
