Market town Hawes, North Yorkshire, is a major tourist destination in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is known as one of the park's honeypots. The town is ideally situated for exploring Wensleydale and the surrounding dales of Swaledale, Cotterdale, Dentdale, Garsdale, Wharfedale, and Chapel-le-Dale, as it sits between Buttertubs and Fleet Moss. The Hawes Town Trail, the Millennium Walk, the Pennine Way, or the nearby River Ure are all excellent options for a stroll. The English Tourist Board's Silver Award for "Best Day Trip Out" went to Hawes in 1998. A farmers' auction draws sheep farmers from all across northern England, despite the fact that modern vehicles have long since replaced horse-drawn carriages on the town's tiny streets. But market day (Tuesdays) in Hawes is lively as ever.

It is next to a very small petrol station but to be honest it wasn’t a problem at all for us. There is a good designated parking space so you can just pull up by the front door. The cottage is very comfortable and homely and very well equipped. Some lovely walks to the Aysgarth Falls, Hardraw Force Waterfall and, of course, a visit to the Wensleydale Cheese Factory. Would definitely visit again.

Petrol station right next door but doesn't cause a problem at all. Well appointed property containing everything required for a self catering holiday . A very comfortable lounge/dining area with a very homely feel. The shower head needs some attention as it is splitting at the top of hose, and the key safe was very tricky to open and close but otherwise no problems. Property is accessed from across the garage forecourt exit, directly off the A684 before you reach B6255!
