Really spacious well equipped cottage. Great for a multi generational holiday as loads of room. Games room a real bonus. Kitchen brilliantly equipped, Nespresso pod machine included. Very clean throughout. Garden great for sitting with a glass of wine in the evening sun. Also very close to welcoming, friendly local pub. Such a quiet relaxing location.Fantastic location for dog walking with loads of brilliant walks from the door. Close to Leyburn and Hawes for shopping, and Wensleydale Ice Cream parlour (5 mins drive) was a real hit.

We have had another lovely stay in Thoralby. Returning to a property doesn’t always give the same great experience but the Old Chapel did not disappoint in any way and in fact continued to delight as we noticed new details and new joys like the early summer flowers with this being earlier in the summer than the last year.I am puzzled at some of the recent reviews. I have read complaints that there aren’t enough toilet rolls or that there isn’t a welcome pack. There were tea bags and coffee and sugar sachets plus UHT milk portions. There was more than one toilet roll in each bathroom and although I brought some it wasn’t needed. And as for a ‘welcome pack’, the entire cottage is a welcome pack, waiting to embrace you as you relax in its walls. I don’t feel I need for a welcome pack when there is dish soap; a washing up brush; hand soap; dishwasher tablets; clingfilm; almost every kitchen utensil you could wish for, an air fryer… you name it! There are a couple of things that need attention or fixing or replacing but there is a book so that you can note these for the owner to be aware. They really care and this cottage really is fantastic.We look forward to returning in August!
