Manor House Farm offers a charming and comfortable cottage experience in a tranquil, scenic setting, ideal for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and coast. Guests praise the beautiful gardens, well-equipped kitchen, and cosy farmhouse atmosphere. While the peaceful, remote location is a highlight for many, some found it a little far from local amenities. A few maintenance and cleanliness issues were noted, particularly in the bathrooms and with kitchen supplies, but overall, the property provides a relaxing and enjoyable base for a countryside holiday.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, especially the kitchen and dining areas. However, some reported issues such as dead flies in bedrooms and a bathroom that had not been adequately cleaned or maintained, which affected the overall impression.
The property is praised for its stunning, peaceful location with beautiful views and easy access to local attractions. Some guests found it a bit remote and far from shops and pubs, but most appreciated the quiet countryside setting.
Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, quality linen, and a cosy farmhouse feel. While one review noted the cottage felt cold during their stay, the majority found it a comfortable and restful place to stay.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but some guests noted missing items (such as mugs and mixing bowls), minor maintenance issues (like a broken shower dial), and insufficient dishwasher tablets. These detracted slightly from the overall experience.
There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

An old farmhouse in an absolutely stunning location, off the beaten track …. perfect! As there was only two of us space was not an issue, but more than this might feel a little cramped. Bathroom sloping ceilings may be a problem for many too. The house was clean and the heating very well monitored with a constant supply of hot water when needed. Comfy bed but the duvet was an absolute heavyweight! Great location for visiting all places up and down the coast; especially Filey, Flamborough and our favourite Bempton Cliffs. If you enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, fabulous views, birdsong and not mind being more than ‘a bit out of town’, this is just right. We would love to visit again in the future and further explore beautiful Troutsdale but would need to check on the progress of the building works at this location as we had some groundworks noise early morning / end of the afternoon. This may only be temporary but could be a factor if staying at Manor Farm all day. We had an issue with a key, which was dealt with promptly by Christina, along with great communication, which was really appreciated. I’m sure we will be back soon as so much more to see and do. Missing the House Martins and Song Thrush already!

A lovely old house in a stunning location (but perhaps difficult to access in winter?). A well-equipped kitchen for real cooks with only two things missing - a proper mixing bowl and a small heatproof (Pyrex) bowl. Plenty of hot water, too. Comfortable sitting for the evenings but a decent reading lamp would make it even better - not everyone wants to watch tv on holiday! The beds are also comfortable and the linen is of good quality. Certainly one of the better holiday lets I've experienced over the last forty years and I might well return before too long as there is so much to do and explore in the area.

We liked the cottage and found it very well set out. We did however, have a problem with the heating. The whole place felt cold all the time we were there. The beds were very comfortable. I sure it would be excellent in the warmer weather. I don’t think we will return!
