Lumiere VIP offers a peaceful and private retreat, ideal for couples seeking relaxation. Guests frequently praise the lodge’s cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and well-equipped interiors, with the hot tub being a standout feature. The location is convenient for exploring Scarborough and nearby villages, and the staff are noted for their friendliness. While most reviews are positive, some mention minor maintenance issues and occasional discomfort with beds or blinds. Thoughtful touches such as robes, slippers, and welcome drinks are appreciated by many, though not guaranteed. Overall, the property provides a charming and restful getaway in a scenic setting.
Most guests found the lodge spotlessly clean and well-presented, though a few noted dust on blinds and occasional missed areas. The majority of reviews highlight a high standard of cleanliness, but some isolated incidents of missed cleaning and maintenance prevent a higher score.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, privacy, and proximity to Scarborough, local pubs, and beautiful countryside. Guests appreciate the tranquil setting next to a golf course and the ease of access to nearby attractions.
Guests generally find the lodge cosy and warm, with many enjoying restful stays. However, several reviews mention uncomfortable mattresses, issues with blinds letting in light, and the lodge becoming hot in summer, which slightly lowers the comfort score.
The lodge is well-equipped with kitchen utensils, hot tub, and thoughtful amenities. Most guests found everything they needed, but some reported minor maintenance issues (e.g., shower temperature, cupboard doors, and limited storage), and a few noted the compact size.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as robes, slippers, and complimentary drinks, as well as friendly and helpful staff. However, as these extras are not guaranteed for every stay, future guests should not expect them as standard.

It was lovely! The lodges are great - clean, modern, and have everything you need for your stay. The location is perfect, near the coast and plenty of beautiful villages. I’d highly recommend, and we’re already planning our next stay.

Two week stay at Snainton lodge, stayed in lodge 5, couple with a dog.Lodge was clean with plenty of utensils for cooking including cafetiere, iron, hairdryer, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, hoover and airer. Supply of tea, instant coffee and cleaning pack with sponge, bin bags, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. Slippers, bathrobe and complementary toiletries were a nice touch. The hot tub was well maintained and a lovely treat after long dog walks. The lodge faced the golf course, but trees and fencing did give some privacy.Bed was comfortable, but when someone turned over or if someone walked in the lodge, you bounced, which did make us giggle. We did find the lodge small with little storage, especially the kitchen as we had supplies for two weeks. If a short stay, this wouldn't be an issue. Ended up using the TV cabinet draws as storage for cupboard food storage. The outside seating area was lovely, and our dog Otto enjoyed people and bird watching on the golf course whilst I had my morning coffee. We struggled to find plugs, and when asked, there is a plug behind the kitchen table and in the wardrobe in the bedroom. Luckily, we brought a multi plug so charged our phones in the kitchen. As we were there for 2 weeks, we did miss not having a washing machine. There were laundrettes within 10 min drive. The location was good, need a car to get around. Some grass areas so able to walk the dog for toilet breaks. Some lovely dog walks short drive away, did three trips to Dalby forest as many different walking routes so recommend if you have a dog. Cayton bay beech is dog friendly and celebrated Ottos first swim in the sea. Whitby abbey also dog friendly but cannot take dogs on the beech in summer period.Overall enjoyed our stay, staff very friendly and recommended places to visit and spoilt Otto. Would stay again for a short break.

We stayed for a week in Lodge 4, and honestly, I do not even know where to start. The whole stay was extremely disappointing and nowhere near the standard you would expect for the price paid. The bed was very uncomfortable, and there was no proper privacy because the blinds would not close properly, meaning people could see straight through. Curtains would have been far more practical, especially as the daylight was already coming through at around 4am.The shower was unusable, as the water was either extremely hot or absolutely freezing, so it was impossible to have a proper shower. Cleanliness was also a major issue. There was dust on the blinds and window frames, and even worse, there were pubic hairs on the back of the toilet near the hinges, which was absolutely disgusting. The kitchen equipment was also poor. The plastic cups were cracked down the middle, so between two of us we ended up having to share one cup for the week because the glasses provided were far too small. The frying pan had a loose handle, and despite being careful with it, the handle snapped off while drying it, leaving us to use a broken frying pan for the rest of the stay. The cooker also barely worked. The TV and WiFi connection were terrible, and we could not watch anything without it buffering every five minutes. The hot tub kept breaking, with the pumps not working properly, and the temperature was constantly either too hot or too cold. What made matters even worse was finding glass underneath the sofa bed while folding it back, which caused a cut and left my partner’s foot bleeding. That is completely unacceptable and could have been far more serious.Overall, we are very unsatisfied with the condition of this lodge. It was not worth the money at all, and I certainly would not describe it as a luxury lodge. The only positive was that the area itself was quiet, secluded, and had some lovely places to visit. Unfortunately, that does not make up for the poor condition of the accommodation. We would not recommend staying here and would never return
