Cross the River Esk to reach the cobblestone Church Street and the 199 Steps up to Whitby Abbey (1 mile). Dine out at the waterfront seafood restaurants and treat yourself to some handmade delights from an independent shop (within 0.5 miles). Visit the nearby Larpool Viaduct and enjoy some tranquillity at the Waterfall Cottage nature reserve (2.5 miles).
