This terraced cottage has a living/dining room, kitchen and bathroom, which are all on the ground floor and three bedrooms upstairs. All three bedrooms benefit from fantastic views out into the countryside, and railway enthusiasts will enjoy the North York Moors Steam Railway - when the engines pass it almost feels as though they are passing through your window. A great photo opportunity!
There are many public walkways in the area, including an old horse drawn railway track, which you can find almost on the door, with other routes into Goathland and Grosmont, where you can catch a steam train into Whitby or Pickering. Even though you’re surrounded by peace and tranquillity, there is still plenty to do in the area with the wonderful seaside town of Whitby a short drive away with cobbled back streets, many places to eat and drink, and 199 steps up to the famous Whitby Abbey for views out to sea and back across the town. There are many hidden gems dotted along the coastline such as Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes, as well as traditional moorland villages to enjoy, theme parks, Scarborough open air theatre and so much more to see and do from this excellent base in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. Cobb's Cottage is in a beautiful location. There are some lovely walks nearby and the village of Grosmont is a 15 minute walk down the rail trail which is beautiful but involves a decent hill so be aware of you have mobility issues. We had a couple of issues with cleanliness in the cottage when we arrived but these were rectified once we contacted Cottages.com and wouldn't stop us staying there in the future. The North Yorkshire Moors railway running right past the house was wonderful. The cottage is in a great location to explore the North Yorkshire Moors from. Just be aware that the cottage is in a very small Hamlet and the only road in and out is a very steep hill and very narrow. This wasn't a problem for us but for those who don't like narrow country roads it could be a little unnerving.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at cobbs cottage. Perfectly situated for the north yorkshire moors railway, and only 9 miles from whitby. It was very peaceful and if youre a bird spotter, there's plenty of those too.The stairs are a little steep, which is to be expected from an older cottage.Other than that, a lovely cottage.
