It's close proximity to the Esk allowed, indeed, wonder views of many water living birds, herons included. Though I was particularly impressed with a colony of cormerants which roosted just just a stroll from the cottage. I also trained my binoculars on roedeer on the opposite river bank, from our balcony. The cottage itself was very cosy, well maintained and decorated with Whitby themed art, which we liked as it fostered a delightful holiday spirit. It's a short, pleasant walk into Whitby, across the Larpool viaduct, as mentioned in Dracula, which gives you a smashing via of the abbey. We look forward to returning.

The cottage was warm and cosy with everything to hand whether you wanted to eat in or go out for something. It's a lovely walk into Whitby and it's really not as far as you think. We have had a lovely time and would definitely love to return.

The location is superb, the accommodation was excellent for us. Clean, spacious andwell equipped. We did expect a bath as in the photos, but it now has a new shower room. Would still definitely come back. Thanks Debs!
