Brincliffe Cottage in Whitby is a well-regarded holiday rental with guests praising its comfortable and spacious interiors, ideal location, and cleanliness. The property is nestled in a picturesque village, offering a cosy stay with a homely feel. While some minor maintenance issues and a lack of certain kitchen utensils were noted, the overall experience has been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, though there were isolated comments about a messy cupboard and old food left in the fridge. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is highly praised for being close to the sea front and within the old part of the village, contributing to a charming stay. The provision of a parking pass is appreciated, although the steep hill access was noted.
Guests have described the cottage as cosy, comfortable, and spacious, particularly enjoying the lounge area. However, some guests mentioned firm mattresses and challenging spiral staircases.
While the cottage is generally well-equipped, guests have suggested improvements in kitchen facilities and cleanliness, and mentioned issues with a leaking sink and blocked shower. The lack of a washing machine was also noted.
There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owners. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Was a little chilly at times but radiators worked well (once I realized somebody before being had switched off the boiler and I switched it back in). Lounge and kitchen a good size and furniture very comfortable. Bedrooms a decent size but with some low ceilings in parts. The spiral staircase looks great but can be a little challenging getting cases up and down and would be difficult for anyone with reduced mobility. Good to have a bathroom downstairs and an ensuite (- toilet) and a separate toilet upstairs, though the ceiling is low in the upstairs toilet which makes it a little challenging. Worth mentioning, that Robin Hood's bay is on a 33% hill (1 in 3) so walking to the chip shop etc at the top of the hill can be a challenge. The cottage does provide a parking pass for Fisherhead car park which is basically a piece of rough ground nearer the bottom of the hill, which minimises waking up the hill to the 2 public car parks, but does mean driving up and down the steep hill. Overall highly recommended, Robin Hood's bay and the cottage are lovely.
