Dating back to the 1700’s this holiday cottage, adjoining the owners’ home, is ideally located for exploring both the National Park and the Heritage Coast of Yorkshire. Guests can enjoy and relax in the private lawned garden. Cycle tracks and bridle paths abound from the doorstep and quaint little villages tucked away deep in the valleys await discovery. The ancient seaport of Whitby is just a short drive and from here you can board the steam train and enjoy some of the finest scenery, as it chugs its way through the Esk Valley into the Heartbeat villages of Grosmont and Goathland. Whitby is home to a bustling colourful harbour, a fine marina, the ancient abbey ruins and a 3-mile stretch of sandy beach. Visit the fishing villages of Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay, clinging to the cliff sides. The market towns of Pickering, Kirkby Moorside and Helmsley are easily reached. Steeped in history, the area is home to many famous houses, halls, castles and abbeys. Shop and pub 1 mile.

Lovely comfortable cottage with beautiful views set in glorious countryside. You can do excellent walks from the door, and it's a really good centre for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and coastline. Easy drive to Whitby which is great for a visit and has a large supermarket. The owners live next door and were very helpful.

Chris and Derek were the perfect hosts, welcoming and friendly. The cottage was lovely, the view over the garden amazing. The garden itself was a joy, a true labour of love, Derek. The ducks were very entertaining, the many rabbits amusing. All in all, a fantastic place to stay. Thank- you, Chris and Derek!

Lovely cottage in fantastic setting. Lots of great cycling (we had e-bikes, it’s hilly!) straight from the door. Lots of walking options and a great setting for just chilling in the garden. Hosts are really nice and sorted out a little problem we had straight away. Cottage is comfy, warm and well equipped.- great place and we will be back!
