Inglenook Cottage in Whitby is highly praised for its prime location, cleanliness, and cosy ambience. Guests appreciate the property's character, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful touches. While parking can be challenging, the cottage's central position and proximity to local amenities more than compensate. The unique decor and open fire add to the charm, making it a favoured choice for a Whitby stay.
The majority of guests report the cottage as clean and well-presented. However, a few noted instances of dog hairs and a sticky kitchen floor, suggesting occasional lapses in cleanliness that prevent a perfect score.
The cottage's location is consistently lauded for being central and convenient, offering easy access to Whitby's attractions. The peaceful setting despite its central location is a recurring positive note among guests.
Guests find the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, contributing to a homely feel. Some guests mentioned the furniture being low and the mattress hard, indicating room for improvement in comfort for a diverse range of visitors.
The cottage is well-equipped with thoughtful extras, but feedback on the lack of a stand-up shower and issues with the toilet flushing indicate that some facilities could be enhanced for a better guest experience.
Reviews often mention the cottage's quirky touches and the provision of items like a sewing kit and first aid kit. While no specific gifts are referenced, the attention to detail in amenities suggests a high level of thoughtfulness.

It was amazing. So cosy and ideally located in a quiet yet really central place for accessing the delights of Whitby. It was not cold enough for using the fireplace and the heating is really good. Kitchen very functional and well presented. Apologies for any lingering kipper aroma from Fortunes Smokehouse. Comfortable bed and plenty of room. Bathroom really well set up. Also great to be able to speak to the owner to arrange key collection and parking details. Very highly recommended.

..it's too flimsy to lie flat and rucks up easily. Sofa chair and bed uncomfortable. Mattress rather hard. Seating very low, cushions slide off and back is low so no head or neck rest for older visitors.
Caroline
Very comfy bed and settee and gorgeous to light an open fire in the evening after a day walking in crisp sunny weather. Very well and thoughtfully equipped with extras that are often left out in holiday cottages eg 2 teatowels not 1, kitchen roll, foil, salt and black pepper. And even a pint of milk in the fridge. Not that shopping is an issue as, despite the quietness of the little alleyway the cottage is on, you are literally 30 seconds from a pub and a cafe and many more plus lots of shops too. We will be back!
