This area was affectionately nicknamed "Captain’s Row", as it was once a prestigious residential area popular with local sea captains. Whitby is still a proud seafaring town, where you can enjoy freshly caught seafood and discover more about the local heritage from Viking invasions, smugglers who risked their lives with a network of tunnels from the cliffs, heroic rescue missions from the life boat crew, and pioneers including James Cook who discovered Australia among other destinations.

There is a spacious open plan living area, with the dining area plus living room. One of the charming original features is the decorative Victorian fireplace. We had a lovely time there very clean and tidy very quiart into town centre with maverick the black labrdor in 10 minutes lovely walk around Whitby and good fish and chips 🍟 😀

Lovely apartment. Warm, clean, comfortable and with all amenities we needed. Location is also excellent, only a short walk to the centre. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
