These stone cottages are accessed by a rough track and have been beautifully refurbished in 2018 with underfloor heating and wood burners, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring either the North York Moors National Park or the wonderful Yorkshire coastline. The Forge has a modern kitchen/dining room on the ground floor with a family bathroom and a twin bedroom. Upstairs there’s a living room with a wood burner and the master bedroom with en-suite is next door. There is a terrace to the rear through the patio doors.
Grinkle is just 3 miles from the fishing village of Staithes with its quaint shops and has strong links to Captain Cook and his maritime history, traditional pubs serving home cooked food and a beach. The famous Cleveland Way twists and turns along the coastline dropping down into some wonderful bays and coves such as Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay and there are plenty of cycle routes across the area and a cycle hire shop in nearby Saltburn-by-the-Sea. The bustling town of Whitby is a short drive away with its myriad of shops, pubs and restaurants. Famous for its abbey and links to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, there are plenty of things to see and do in the town and regular events and festivals throughout the year. The North York Moors are nothing short of spectacular and well worth a visit with many National Heritage Sites, walking routes and villages to enjoy. Beach 4 miles. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Very nice welcome pack. Very nice location. Note that this is not a "sea view cottage" but with a small garden protected from the wind.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage. It is set in an incredibly peaceful and picturesque setting, whilst also being close to lots of fantastic places to visit.The Forge is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break , including a lovely welcome basket full of tasty treats!The hosts were welcoming and friendly too.I would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely cottage.

Lovely cottage and had everything we needed. Wonderful treats on arrival and little garden was a delight for sitting out in. The local area was beautiful with spectacular scenery.The only thing that let the cottage down was the long unmade track which was steep in places anx the very tight parking place which we did eventually get the hang of!
