Carefully renovated retaining beautiful beams and roof trusses, Bluebell Barn has been converted into a spacious property, with great attention to detail. The open plan living area is filled with light, and boasts a roaring wood burner and polished concrete floors. This single-storey barn conversion also has three bedrooms, each complete with hairdryers and en-suite facilities. The large garden with a patio and comfortable garden furniture offers a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine on warm summer evenings.
Cyclists can enjoy the Sustrans National Cycle Route which passes close by, and there is also a variety of walks from the doorstep. Bluebell Barn also lies on the edge of historical Hagg Wood, where you can take a pleasant stroll. Local attractions include the Yorkshire Air Museum and the Yorkshire Museum of Farming. There is a good bus service into the historic city of York, and Grimston Bar park and ride also gives easy access into the heart of the city. This vibrant walled city appeals to all ages, with its wealth of world-renowned attractions including the iconic minster, castle, Railway Museum, the Jorvik Centre and Cliffords Tower. Why not visit York’s Chocolate Story, it’s informative and delicious? There are art galleries, theatres and quirky shops along the cobbled streets, as well as and numerous pubs serving real ale. Take a trip on the open top bus, walk along the city walls, cruise along the river or enjoy a day at the Knavesmire racecourse. The property is also easily accessible to the North York Moors and the coastal resorts of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

A nice comfortable holiday home. Suited us and our son and family well . Nice location, down a country road with views to farmland and local woods. Plenty of parking on site. House clean and well presented, floor polished concrete throughout with underfloor heating in the living area. Some dog hairs on sofas and chairs. Kitchen good, with nespresso and milk frother. Dishwasher is a slimline, so we used it a couple of times a day. Beds and bathrooms good. Washing machine in the utility worked well. Outside space nice with furniture, but too cold for us to use in October. Plenty of good walks, through the woods on the doorstep. Lots of passers by , walkers, bikes and runners. About 10 minutes walk to the playground in Dunnington, a couple of minutes more to the pub and shop .Contact with owner via whatsapp went well .

Bluebell Barn is quite spacious and all on one level. The photos don't do it justice. There are three double en-suite bedrooms. All have showers and the biggest bathroom has a bath as well. The lounge, dining area and kitchen are open plan. The floor is concrete and has rugs. There is also a separate WC and a laundry room. On a sunny day you can open up the glass doors and sit outside in the sun. There is also an enclosed garden. To get to the property you have to go down a single track road and lane. This is often frequented by dog walkers and joggers. It is usually fairly quiet and there are three properties nearby. The kitchen is well equipped but it could do with some new mugs , plates and baking trays. ( I suppose we are a bit fussy) Bigger bath towels would also be nice.We could have done with a little bit more local information, like Dr's and Dentist numbers. There is one local shop/ post office, bakers and a pub. Use the park and ride if going into York. We can recommend the Castle Museum, York Minster and Railway Museum. Further afield is Castle Howard and NY Steam railway at Pickering.Ĺ
