Robin Lodge - E4478 is a well-regarded holiday rental with guests praising its immaculate condition, peacefulness, and spectacular views. It serves as a good base for exploring nearby attractions, with a local village and the coast within driving distance. The lodge offers a quiet and relaxing stay, with enough space for families and a local pub offering good food nearby.
Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. While one guest found the lodge to be the cleanest place they've ever stayed, another reported issues with cleanliness, including pet hair and a dirty lodge. The majority, however, did not raise cleanliness concerns.
The location is generally praised for being ideal for visiting the coast and local attractions. However, one review mentioned the disturbance from nearby kennels. Overall, the location is considered quiet, relaxing, and convenient for exploring the area.
Guests find the lodge comfortable, with enough room for children to play and a relaxing atmosphere. One negative comment about thin curtains and a noisy wall detracts slightly from an otherwise positive consensus on comfort.
There is insufficient information to accurately score facilities and maintenance. While some guests mention a well-set lodge with everything needed and a good playground, specific details on facilities and their maintenance are lacking.
The provision of tea, coffee, and biscuits is mentioned, but the absence of milk was noted by a guest. While this gesture is appreciated, it is not consistent across reviews, and guests should note that such amenities are a courtesy and not guaranteed.

We had a very good week at the lodge, we were upgraded to the Wren Lodge which was beautiful. I have to say it was the cleanest place I have ever stayed in, immaculate. It is ideally situated for visiting the coast (approx 40 minutes) and the local village of Helmsley was well worth a visit too, the bakery was amazing. We had the most relaxing week ever. Thank you so much Helen.Julie & Martin

Booked this lodge as we wanted to revisit the Yorkshire Moors. The location is ideal however the lodge wasn't that clean. When we arrived we found a large urine splash/stain on the toilet seat which I cleaned up.My bed when I pulled the covers back had two long black hairs on the sheet plus one on the pillow ( long as in 9 to 10 inches) so easily seen. I also found a short and curly one at the end of the bed sheet. The floor and lounge mat were covered in dogs hairs and dirty. So much so, on the first day, my socks were a mass of dog hairs and dirt so from then on, I changed from my outdoor shoes to my Crocs as soon as we returned to the lodge every day.I kept knocking against the wall during sleep so I pulled the bed away from the wall and found that the carpet hadn't seen a Hoover in quite a long time. The curtains are so thin and transparent that they are practically useless. We ended up hanging the bed blankets on them to block some of the light. As I removed one it had something brown on it.. Could be chocolate, could be something else.. I didn't investigate further..Although not the owners fault, we wanted to sit outside on the decking in the evening but every time, we could hear dogs howling and barking non stop. This also happened in the morning. We found out there are hunting hound kennels across the fields. We went on an evening walk and this barking and howling was all you could hear. This is a major issue and we had known this, we would not have booked this lodge. The shower leaked from the back near the toilet leaving a pool of water. Finally, there was tea, coffee and biscuits available when we arrived, but it would have been nice to have some milk, either a pint in the fridge or some sachets. This is the first time we have not been able to make a cup of tea when we arrived. It meant a trip back out to Kirkbymoorside to buy a pint so we could have a cup of tea after our long journey. To sum up, we spent a lot more time sitting in the car out on the moors as we didn't want to go back to the lodge. We ended up coming home early. We would not stay here again.
