The large family living room with a huge L-shaped sofa and large picture window allows for a great family space for an evening in. The spacious kitchen/diner will be the heart of this family home, the country style kitchen offers a host of modern appliances. There is plenty of worktop space to prepare a delicious evening meal or for a tasty picnic to enjoy at the beach. A breakfast bar provides seating for two and you can come together as a family at the large dining table. Retire in the evening to the first floor and find three well-presented bedrooms. A twin room with low sloping ceiling and Velux window and the master super kingsize zip and link bedroom with en suite toilet and sink facilities. The accommodation is completed by a house shower room. Fern Cottage benefits from an enclosed dog-friendly garden providing a large neatly trimmed lawn, a patio area with additional seating and a private hot tub. During the summer months enjoy alfresco dining or relax on an evening surrounded by bubbles and watch the night sky.
A short walk will bring you to a popular Thai restaurant and you can also head into the thriving village of Pocklington which is known as the gateway to the Wolds. Here you will find a local pub as well as a couple of supermarkets, with a market every Tuesday. Directly opposite is a bus stop which will take you into York or over to the coast. Running seven days a week it’s a great option should you wish to leave the driving to someone else! In less than a 30-minute drive, you will locate the walled city of York. Whilst here, you can visit the Gothic-style cathedral, step inside the time capsule of the Jorvik Viking Centre, or enjoy the vast array of shops, restaurants and pubs within the city.
Nearby, for children, you have York Maze, Piglets Farm as well as Flamingo Land theme park and zoo. There are some wonderful walking trails nearby making this a great destination for hikers as well as dog lovers. Take time to explore the stunning Yorkshire Wolds or head into the Howardian Hills and visit Castle Howard, home to both Brideshead Revisited and more recently Bridgerton. Burnby Hall and Gardens are close by along with many National Trust and English Heritage properties. Make this beautifully presented holiday home the base for your Yorkshire break. Convenient location to visit family, à few minutes away in Pocklington and 20 minutes to York. Direct bus service there from nearby bus stop.The low water pressure in the shower and the arrival of ants in the kitchen were the negative points to an otherwise positive venue.

Very nice and clean place to stay would highly recommend it 10 minutes drive to park and ride to get into York the only down side of the place would be the water pressure in the shower kept going and the room with the boiler in it got really hot would stay there again

Lovely place to stay, garden great for kids and pets and hot tub is great too! The description says zip link super king bed and also tv in main bedroom which there isn't either of these its a double and no tv's in bedrooms. The kitchen is lovely and has everything you need. Its very warm in the smaller bedroom but there are fans in all of the bedrooms to use. My little one has autism so it can be difficult to take her places to stay but she loved it here and loved running around the garden. Thank you 😊
