Situated in the charming village of Wheldrake, this cosy detached bungalow offers a peaceful holiday base just 8 miles from the centre of the historic city of York. With regular daily buses, visitors can easily access the numerous attractions including the Jorvik Centre, castle and railway museums and the magnificent minster. There is so much to enjoy with boat trips on the River Ouse, walks around the city walls, theatres, galleries and a wealth of individual shops and traditional tea rooms. The Yorkshire Air Museum, Burnby Hall Gardens and Wheldrake Ings Nature Reserve are all close by, whilst the scenic Yorkshire Wolds and the East Yorkshire Coast are just a short and scenic drive away. Shop, pub, restaurant and Italian café 800 yards.

Had an absolutely lovely stay for my 21st birthday they even left us some cookies! Beautiful property and village within a 15 minute drive to york. Me and my partner will definitely be back

On arrival couldnt find property (later found out in someones back garden, satnav took us to the main house property). Over 1hr of searching around in the dark- no one came out from property to help us eventhough we were on the drive for a long time. Didnt answer the phone although we called multiple times- finally had a call back over 1hr later. Property was unclean with mould & bugs (woodlice!)- mould was behind furniture on the walls where wallpaper was peeling, and on the blinds in the bathroom etc. One of our party members is immune suppresed, so black mould is very dangerous to them! Electric didnt work on arrival (or rest of stay). Richard came out to help us turn on the hot tub, every few minutes the electric would trip, turning off the plugs/ WiFi etc! Was told he would get an electrician out the next day- this didnt happen & no follow up call of help from cottages phone number. We had no use of hot tub for our stay. Asked for a refund 19th October- not heard back yet!
