Guests say

Mill Cottage in York receives high praise for its peaceful location, beautiful gardens, and welcoming hosts, Paul and Maggie. Guests appreciate the well-equipped cottage, the generous welcome hamper, and the property's proximity to local attractions. The private and shared gardens are a highlight, with guests enjoying the outdoor space and the cottage's cosy atmosphere.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as clean and tidy, with only one mention of it being a bit cluttered and potentially in need of a deep clean. This suggests a high level of cleanliness overall.

The location is frequently praised for its peacefulness, proximity to York and other attractions, and the beauty of the surrounding area. The village setting and nearby pubs add to the appeal.

The cottage is repeatedly referred to as cosy, comfortable, and suitable for families, including those with elderly members. The comfort of the beds and living space is highlighted.

Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and beautiful grounds. However, one review suggests the addition of a teapot and dish drainer, indicating room for minor improvements.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in the frequent mentions of a welcome hamper, which guests found to be a lovely touch. It should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

Fab little cottage tucked away and with lovely outdoor space. Very warm and cosy. 2 pubs within walking distance and lots of other amenities in lovely villages, all a short drive away. Our hosts Paul and Maggie were extremely friendly, kind and helpful and our huge welcome basket was very much appreciated. We would have no hesitation in staying there again.
