Priestley House is a distinguished, 19th-century town house on the handsome Georgian thoroughfare of Bootham, close to York city walls, the Minster and railway station. The location is second to none being a few minutes’ stroll from York city centre’s amenities, museums, galleries and recreational spaces, including the riverside and botanical gardens.

A smart entrance gives private access to the maisonette on the upper first and second floors, from which cityscape views can be enjoyed towards Bootham Bar and the Minster’s central tower, the highest point in York. Newly refurbished throughout in October 2021, its interiors are stylish and very much on trend, blending period and contemporary pieces. Built into the precinct walls of an old Benedictine Abbey, its private balcony provides guests with unbroken south-facing views across York Art Gallery and ‘Edible Wood’ in the Museum Gardens.

Comfortably designed for up to six guests, the maisonette provides generous living space with a dining table that seats six, as well as a breakfast bar for two in the contemporary, fitted kitted. The bedrooms have king or double beds with sumptuous mattresses, all of which are UK manufactured, and the principal bedroom is generously sized with a period features and en-suite shower room. There is both a bath tub and shower in the family bathroom.
