Set amidst the beautiful countryside of the Howardian Hills, the pretty North Yorkshire village of Hovingham is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village itself is incredibly picturesque, with a beck running down the high street, two excellent inns and a traditional village shop as well as a tea-room and a bakery. There are numerous excellent walking and cycling opportunities surrounding the village, as well as easy access to the beautiful National Park. The area is also renowned for its excellent bird watching opportunities. The stately home and gardens of Castle Howard are just four miles away, whilst the market towns of Malton and Helmsley are only eight miles away and are great places to visit. The historic city of York and the East Coast are slightly further afield but are still within driving distance.

Many places to visit, if you wish, within a short drive. The owners are friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. There are local maps and information in the cottage which are useful. The cottage is well equipped, warm and comfortable, our only reservation was the small sofa, which we did not find so comfortable! A very nice place to stay.

Well situated for visiting the nearby attractions and only a short drive to the North Yorkshire moors. The cottage itself was very comfortable and had everything you needed. Plenty of storage space and the entrance hall was a bonus. The only downside was the Wi-Fi and phone signals were a bit hit and miss but we found certain hotspots where we got a signal. It certainly didnât bother us and wouldnât stop us staying there again. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the banana loaf was delicious. Thank you
