It is well maintained and has everything you could need for your stay. We found the beds very comfortable and the bedrooms are a good size. The village pub is lively and locals very friendly. We had lovely meals here and at the pub in Appleton le Moor but I would recommend booking as they were busy. I would recommend Damson Cottage as a lovely place to stay.

Over the last two years we have increased our stay from one week to two weeks. Damson Croft is ideal for us as it is quiet and secluded in the owners' beautiful garden. It is one of the few remaining properties which is on it's own and doesn't invite you to take a whole crowd of people with you in neighbouring buildings. The comfort and cleanliness are everything you could wish for and Rob and Patsie are around should you have any difficulties. We have had a wonderful holiday divided into days out to local villages and beyond and days resting inbetween them. Local villages have historic places of interest and also proper markets and Lastingham is close enough to the coast for a visit too. The scenery in between these places is lovely and as well as the hoards of sheep always to be seen there were three deer in the area this year. Thank you Patsie and Rob. We look forward to seeing you next year, we hope that your holiday is as good as ours.

The on-site owner is very welcoming and helpful. We're already planning to book again next year.
