Guests consistently praise The Hayloft for its cleanliness, excellent location near York, and comfortable amenities including hot tubs and a games room. The property is well-maintained with thoughtful touches such as basic provisions on arrival. It's an ideal choice for both family gatherings and contractor stays, offering a peaceful countryside feel with convenient access to local attractions and the city centre.
Reviewers frequently mention the property's cleanliness, describing it as 'lovely and clean' and 'beautiful and clean', indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The property's location is highly praised for being close to York centre, park and ride facilities, and shopping areas, while still offering a quiet, countryside ambiance. Its proximity to major roads and a resident peacock add to its charm.
Comfort is highlighted with mentions of 'comfy beds', 'spacious' rooms, and a 'warm' atmosphere. However, some guests noted creaky floorboards and the need for fans during a heatwave, slightly affecting the score.
Facilities like hot tubs, a sauna, and a games room are well-received, though the need for 50p to play pool and the mention of a temperamental TV remote suggest minor maintenance issues.
Guests appreciate the thoughtful provisions upon arrival, such as milk and bread. While these gestures are warmly received, it's important to note that such gifts are offered at the hosts' discretion and may not be guaranteed.

This warm, comfortable and well equipped cottage was a great base for visiting nearby York. Our host was very thoughtful leaving milk and bread, offering us a warm welcome on arrival. The retail park and the park and ride are very close and a real bonus. After a hard day’s sightseeing we enjoyed use of the hot tub and our teenagers liked the games room.

We booked the hayloft for a 50th Birthday celebration. The accommodation was amazing, the hot tubs were a great bonus to our stay. There is a Toby carvery and bar just across the road and we were only a few miles in an Uber to York town centre. I would definity stay here again if coming to York.
