Start your day with a refreshing 0.5-mile walk to Cushendun Beach to enjoy a little quiet time by the sea, and in the evening, come home to your cottage to fire up the BBQ and indulge in an al fresco seafood dinner with your loved ones.

Take a few steps up to the front door of this traditional cottage, step inside, and you’ll be welcomed by a homely interior that oozes relaxation. Make your way to the living area and take a little time out to throw a log on the open fire and admire the cottage’s pretty textiles, wooden detailing and homely design touches. When it’s time to eat, head to the large farmhouse-style kitchen/diner to cook up some dinner. Gather everyone around the dining table to eat, or head outside to dine alfresco in the courtyard garden while you soak up the uninterrupted sea views. After dinner, make your way to the living area to slip onto a sofa by the crackling open fire. At the end of the day, there are three lovely bedrooms to choose from – two sweet twins and one elegant double. A stylish en-suite shower room and one bathroom with a walk in shower (no bath) complete the layout.

Get the gang together to explore the enchanting Woodland Faerie Trail (1.5 miles). Spot tiny homes intricately crafted from twigs, leaves and stones as you escape into a delightful world of Irish folklore and fairytales. Alternatively, grab your hiking boots and head to Croaghaun (12 miles). Standing at an impressive 2,192 feet and boasting a rewarding view of the Atlantic Ocean, the wild Connemara landscape, and neighbouring islands like Inishturk and Clare Island, it’s well worth the climb.
