About this property

Peterculter 3.7 miles. Courtyard Cottage is a first floor apartment settled within the historic courtyard of the National Trust for Scotland’s Drum Castle. Steeped in 700 years of history, this property was once home to the Irvine family, its rich history evidenced in its antique artefacts and décor throughout. Enter the apartment via several stairs, leading you into a quaint living space where you can relax with your loved one, lighting up the woodburning stove to create a homely aura for a romantic evening. Make use of the contemporary kitchen amenities to rustle up a delicious home cooked meal to enjoy in the dining area, or dine out in one of the nearby restaurants to celebrate a special occasion. At the end of each evening, find rest in the spacious double bedroom, decorated in tasteful green hues, accompanied by ample storage and sleek oak flooring to create a contemporary space to unwind. Choose between a serene bubble bath and invigorating shower in the elegant bathroom, the perfect area to get ready for the day, with the added luxury of warming underfloor heating. Settled into the grounds of the National Trust for Scotland’s Drum Castle, this property allows guests to explore the castle hallways, home to a library housing more then 4,000 books, a 17th century chapel, Garden of Historic Roses and an award-winning wildlife garden where guests can picnic in the sunshine or enjoy fantastic views from the battlements. Nature lovers can walk through the Old Wood of Drum, home to many plants and animals, including roe deer, red kites and red squirrels. Drumoak village houses a local shop for essentials and a coffee shop where guests can grab lunch, and there are more amenities and attractions at Peterculter. Surrounding countryside uncrowded and peaceful. Free entry to view the castle with guided tour.

An apology notice was placed in the bathroom to this effect. Faulty heating! The refrigerator compressor was so noisy it impacted on using lounge area, it could only be silenced by switching off.
