Kamba Cottage in Forfar is highly praised for its friendly hosts, beautiful location, and excellent facilities including a pool, hot tub, and sauna. Guests appreciate the rural setting and the property's suitability for families and pets. While most reviews are positive, a few guests noted issues with cleanliness and comfort, particularly for larger groups.
Most guests found Kamba Cottage to be clean, with one mentioning 'shining cleanliness'. However, there were concerns about cobwebs, mold, and a lack of paper towels, which suggests room for improvement in this area.
The cottage's location is frequently described as beautiful, private, and a good base for exploring Scotland. Its rural setting is appreciated for tranquility and proximity to local attractions.
While many guests found the cottage cosy and spacious, some expressed discomfort with the furniture and sleeping arrangements, particularly when accommodating six people.
The facilities, including a well-resourced kitchen, pool, hot tub, and sauna, are generally well-received. However, some guests reported maintenance issues with appliances and restricted availability of the pool and hot tub.
There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.
Kirriemuir 7 miles. A lovely cottage in the hamlet of East Murthill, boasting a spiral staircase to the first floor bedroom, a lovely patio area. Enjoy superb walking and fishing. An ideal retreat for exploring this beautiful part of Scotland. Note: This cottage can be booked with Ref. 1905 to accommodate 12 people.
Made of lovely red sandstone, the Strathmore valley town of Kirriemuir is often regarded as the gateway to the Angus Glens, some of Scotland's most unspoiled landscapes. JM Barrie - creator of the much-loved children's character, Peter Pan, and subject of the Johnny Depp film 'Finding Neverland', was born in the town and his house is now a museum looked after by the National Trust for Scotland. A statue of 'the boy who never grew up' can be found within Kirriemuir. However, Barrie is not the only literary connection to this charming little town. Nearby Glamis castle was the setting for Shakespeare's 'cursed' play, Macbeth. The historic Pictish Stones at Meigle and the Angus Glens are well worth visiting and offer spectacular views whilst hill walking.

It was in a great peaceful location but handy to go and visit lots of different areas. The owners were very welcoming and was on hand if we needed anything. They left us a bottle of wine and biscuits as a welcome gift, that was a nice surprise. The cottage had everything we needed. We will definitely return again in the future. Thank you for a lovely break!

Spotlessly clean, beautiful location and very well equipped! It has everything you could possibly need - including a washing line!! So many places boast a washing machine but have nowhere to dry it!! The spiral staircase could prove problematic to anyone with mobility issues or young children but we didnât have any of those problems! Lynnette was lovely, introducing herself when we arrived and, although we didnât have any issues, Iâm sure if we had, she would have sorted them immediately! The garden was perfect for our dog and it was great being able to leave the doors open so he could go in and out as he pleased! The only downside - we couldnât get to stay longer! We visit Scotland to see family regularly and we will definitely look no further than Lynnette and her wonderful cottage for every visit, from here on in!!
