Nestled in the heart of the quaint fishing village of Johnshaven, on the harbour front, this delightful traditionally built whitewashed fisherman’s cottage has been sympathetically renovated to the highest of standards.
With modern, eco-friendly, underfloor heating and a wood burning stove, this cosy cottage is a stone’s throw from the harbour, with sea views beyond. Small but perfectly formed, Fifie Cottage has been fully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing and stress-free stay. The fenced garden to the front of the property with raised flower beds and seating is perfectly positioned to watch the goings on at the harbour while inside underfloor heating and a cosy wood burner in the lounge ensure comfort throughout the year. The open plan living, dining and kitchen area is a stylish yet relaxing space to relax and unwind. Perfect for families or couples, the master bedroom looks on to the front garden and has a comfortable double bed, while the second room has full size bunk beds - suitable for children and adults.
Johnshaven is a wonderful fishing village on the east coast, with quirky little shops, winding lanes and excellent seafood – the Anchor Hotel round the corner serves a wide selection of good food while the Lobster Shop along at the harbour offers locally caught dressed crabs and lobsters to take away and enjoy. The yearly Johnshaven Fish Festival takes place in August along the harbour and is a popular event celebrating the village’s place in the local maritime history.
The Johnshaven Heritage Museum is certainly also worth a visit. Further up the coast is the popular seaside town of Stonehaven, with its seasonal open air heated pool – a great attraction – and Dunnottar Castle, a beautiful and mysterious ruin, strategically placed on a rocky outcrop on the outskirts of the town. Its turbulent history and breath-taking views make it a must-see destination. For more culture and retail, both Aberdeen and Dundee are within an hours drive, while to the west, the Angus Glens have a variety of walks in stunning scenery. Beach 300 yards. Pub 200 yards.

We had a lovely time, everyone was so welcoming in the village oveelokk8ng a quiet working harbour. Walks from the cottage were excellent both ways although the last part from stairs/Bridge to St Cyrus was closed due, we believe, to coastal erosion so you have to use the road for last part.
