This stunning detached property sits in an elevated position in the grounds of the owners’ land and working farm in the Angus countryside. Commanding magnificent views towards Montrose Basin, a land locked estuary at the mouth of the River South Esk, renowned for its bird and wildlife sanctuary. The property has been a recent barn conversion and tasteful décor and attention to detail is evident throughout. An ideal house for family get-togethers, visitors have use of a private hot tub in the garden as well as access to the peaceful walks around the farmland surrounding the property.
Located just 4 miles from the centre of Montrose and a couple of miles from the nearest shop and pub, there is plenty to discover in the area. Glorious sandy beaches in Montrose, Lunan Bay or St Cyrus are wonderful for bracing walks or playing in the sand. Montrose Basin is a renowned Nature Reserve and Wildlife Centre and in the winter, thousands of pink footed geese make a spectacular sight taking off in the early morning to feed in the surrounding countryside. Away from the coast are the Angus Glens which form the foothills of the Grampian Mountains with myriad walks and trails to be discovered. Golf, tennis and a leisure pool are in the town itself, or further afield the cities of Dundee and Aberdeen are almost equidistant and have plenty of shops, eateries and theatres for an alternative day out. Beach 3 miles. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 2½ miles.

This is the second time we have been here and have already booked for next year. The location of the Steading is great it is quiet, relaxing and has amazing views looking out over the Montrose basin. It is a short drive away from the town or a little further out to Arbroath. Beautiful places to visit, beaches are breathtaking especially the one in Montrose, stunning. The house is well equipped, very clean and is ideal for people with mobility issues as there is a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of space in the garden to run around in and the hot tub is fantastic. Our dog loves the garden very spacious. The owners are very helpful and are only a text away if you need anything. Fabulous house would recommend!!

Loved our stay in the house. It has everything anyone could possibly need. Huge garden was particularly enjoyed by my 2 year old garden. Grown ups loved the hot tub and watching the house Martins coming and going into their nests. My only slight negative is that bedrooms are flooded with light as soon as the sun comes up due to white blinds and no curtains. This is just a personal preference but if you are like me and need a dark bedroom, best pack an eye mask. Other than that I can't fault the house at all. Interaction with owner was great and easy
