Ormidale is located in some of the most wonderful scenery in Scotland and is just an hour and a half from Glasgow. The area of Argyll benefits from a very mild micro-climate and The Kyles of Bute are a favourite with both walkers and sailors as some of the most beautiful coastlines in Scotland. The Cowal peninsula is the ideal base for an a holiday with abundant wildlife, numerous gardens and many other tourist attractions to visit. There are many sporting activities in the area.

Ormidale Mill House is set in 23 acres of totally private grounds a mile above the head of Loch Riddon and looks down the glen to the river Ruel. Accessed via a ferry from Colintraive, Ormidale nestles in some of the prettiest scenery in Scotland.

Inverary and Loch Lomond are only 45 minutes away, while Dunoon is just under half an hour away and Glen Coe an hour and a half. Stirling, Oban or Fort William are all under two hours drive. Loch Ness and Edinburgh are reachable in less than 2 and a half hours.

The Mill House at Ormidale has taken two and a half years to restore and will accommodate up to 14 adults, and up to 22 guests in total, in real style and luxury.

The open plan ground floor reception area opens up from a fabulous kitchen, through the dining area with vaulted ceiling, into a generous living / lounging area with open fireplace.

The large stylish contemporary kitchen area features granite work surface throughout, and is well equipped including two dishwashers, two electric ovens, and a large American style fridge freezer. There is a kitchen table for eight – expandable to sit a comfortable 12 – and a breakfast bar for up to six.

There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and drier, and an additional large fridge and freezer.

The dining and lounge areas feature the original exposed stone wall and light floods through a large glass archway incorporating the main house entrance into the courtyard. The dining room table can seat a party of 24. The stone fireplace features the saw bench from the original mill, as the mantelpiece.

The ground floor also offers a toilet and a separate TV room-cum-play room with 42 inch flat screen LCD TV with full Sky plus package; this room has its own access to the garden and terrace facing the river. An additional South-facing sitting room on the mezzanine floor, gives access through a pair of french doors onto another terrace with garden furniture and to the private garden, river and woods.

The reception areas on ground and mezzanine levels are tiled in a natural riven slate which complement the old stone walls and new white plaster walls.

Underfloor heating throughout the house is provided by an environmentally sustainable ground source heat pump.

Guests also have access to a separate games cottage with snooker, darts and table tennis, shared with the Ormidale Old Barn.

There are nine bedrooms each offering double or twin accommodation, four of them have either additional bunks or fold-away beds to increase the overall capacity to 22 including children. There are three bathrooms, two of which have jacuzzi baths and a separate sauna.
