Set in stunning Scottish countryside, near beautiful Loch Fyne and just minutes away from the historic county town of Argyll, Beech Cottage offers a warm, comfortable West Highland welcome in a peaceful courtyard setting. There are 10 acres of stunning Scottish countryside surrounding the cottage for guests and their pets to enjoy real relaxation and freedom to roam, as well as private seating areas with barbeques, for each cottage. Beech Cottage is a cosy compact wee detached cottage, sitting at the bottom of the courtyard, perfect for a couple’s retreat.

Entrance is via 3 shallow steps down into the cottage into a welcoming open plan living/dining/kitchen area with a cosy wood burning stove. A door into a hallway leading to the modern shower room is on the ground floor and delightful spacious bedroom, with kingsize bed and views over the grounds, where you may be lucky enough to see deer as you open the curtains of the morning! Although self-catering, breakfast is served in the main farmhouse by arrangement and for a small additional fee.

Killean Farm was built in the 17th century and has served as a farmhouse and family home for many years. The cottages were converted from the original farm buildings and are set in a square around a courtyard. Despite the rural location, there’s a café and bar within 1.5 miles or 30 minute walk of the cottage. It’s just a 5 minute drive into the heart of Inveraray, home to Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll. Inveraray has a many local amenities and attractions including traditional pubs, cafés, independent stores, supermarket and a golf course. Travelling 8 miles along the coast of Loch Fyne on the A83 will take you the small village of Furnace, which has a village hall, convenience store and post office. Continue 12 miles further to the small county town of Lochgilphead, with interesting shops, cafés, bars and a leisure centre with swimming pool. On the way, you’ll pass the Museum of Highland Village Life at Auchindrain, the National Trust Gardens at Crarae, and with a themed activity and adventure centre nearby, there’s always plenty to see and do. For a great day out, a trip to Oban, the Gateway to the Isles, just a 40 minute drive, gives you access supermarkets, ferry terminal, shops, cafés, restaurants, a cinema, leisure centre and whisky distillery. On the way to Oban, there are a number of beautiful attractions to visit including Kilchurn Castle, St Conan’s Kirk and Cruachan Visitor Centre, and Loch Awe which is Scotland’s longest fresh water loch and has superb fishing, enchanted islands and deserted castles to explore. For day trips, you are conveniently situated for ferries to Arran, Bute, Islay and Gigha, and to Campbeltown, Kilmartin, Glencoe and Loch Lomond. Beach 1 mile.
