Just back from my second stay at Fern Cottage. It is a beautiful cottage with everything you could need and more. The location is perfect, really scenic and peaceful. A great place to get away from it all. The cottage itself is immaculate and so warm and cosy with the log burners. It was all decorated for Christmas too which was lovely. Host is so thoughtful and responsive too. I would highly recommend Fern Cottage if you are looking for some chill time. Ardentinny Hotel is only a few minutes walk and great for food and drink. There are some great walks and places of interest in the area as well. I will definitely be back!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Fern Cottage and felt settled in from the moment we arrived. The cottage itself is incredibly cozy, spotlessly clean, and wonderfully warm — exactly the kind of place you look forward to returning to after a day out exploring. The log fire was an absolute highlight, adding a beautiful glow and making the evenings feel extra special.Although we didn’t spot the famous submarine this time, there was no shortage of things to enjoy. The area is full of fascinating local wildlife, and we loved watching it all right on our doorstep. It really added to the charm of the stay and gave the place a peaceful, almost storybook feel.Overall, Fern Cottage exceeded our expectations. It’s a comfortable, welcoming retreat in a lovely location, and we would definitely choose to return in the future

This is, without a doubt, the best holiday accommodation my husband and I have visited. It's a real home, not just a holiday let. Communication from the owner was friendly and helpful beforehand, which started the holiday off on a good point. Taking the ferry from Gourock cut off a bit of the journey, although admittedly not such a nice journey but all very efficient. The cottage itself is very comfy and cosy, we felt at home straight away and the kitchen was very well equipped. The views from the cottage were amazing, so tranquil, with beautiful sun rises and sun sets. Daily walks on the beaches each day were fabulous, there are some good forest walks around too. You'll need torches and fluorescent clothing if you are walking after dark as there are no street lights. The cottage was a great location for touring, we visited Inverary a couple of times, Lochgoilhead and Dunoon and found some lovely places to eat around and about. The photos of the cottage don't do it justice, it's been beautifully restored by the owners and you can tell they take genuine pride in others using the space. The dogs were at home in front of the large log burner too. We'll definitely return.
