Aird Steading Cottage forms the west end of the traditional farm steading at Aird Farm, Ardfern, and is unique in that it is the only cottage on Craignish peninsula to have breathtaking views of both Loch Craignish to the east and the islands of Jura, Scarba, with the Correyvrechan Whirlpool between them, along with the islands of Mull and Luing to the west. This extremely comfortable cottage has a warm living room with views over to Scarba, Mull and Luing and a wood burner for added warmth. A well-equipped kitchen/dining room with a door leading out to the garden and the amazing views. The bedroom has a large comfortable super kingsize bed and a window seat. The bathroom has a spa bath, fluffy bath robes and Scottish toiletries.
Within a short walking distance of the cottage there are numerous secluded bays around Aird Farm with breathtaking views. Wildlife, birdlife, sea fishing or enjoying evening sunsets all offering peace and tranquillity making Aird Steading Cottage a perfect place for a break away from hustle of life, a honeymoon or just time to relax.
Ardfern village, 2½ miles distant, has a village pub and restaurant, café and takeaway, gift shop, marina with chandlery, village shop and post office. Locally within a few minutes’ drive, activities are offered including riding, sailing, canoeing, fresh water and sea fishing, and boat excursions. The area near the farm offers some of the best walks in the area and this is a perfect opportunity to take in some of the breathtaking scenery. There are golf courses on Seil Island, Oban, and Lochgilphead with Machrihanish Golf course about 1½ hours’ drive south. A 21-mile drive takes you to the local country town of Lochgilphead, which has a variety of specialist shops, cafés and restaurants, swimming pool, golf course, sports centre. Oban, the Gateway to the Isles, is scenic 27-mile drive north with boat trips to islands of Mull, Tiree and Colonsay. You could visit Inveraray, the capital of Argyll further to the east and Campbeltown to the far south on the Kintyre Peninsula.

Very nice cottage in a gorgeous but remote location. Very peaceful and relaxing with nice walks from the doorstep. Friendly owners who are nearby but not at all intrusive. Would definitely consider staying again when we return to this area.
