Oban is known as the ‘Seafood Capital of the UK’ and has a leisure centre, cinema, good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Nearby, for the outdoor enthusiasts there are numerous forest walks, cycle tracks and an abundance of wildlife, surrounded by stunning countryside. Thrill seekers can enjoy a sea safari trip to catch a glimpse of dolphins, whales and eagles, as well as the famous Corryvrekan Whirlpool. Ferry trips can be taken from the port of Oban to the nearby islands of Mull, Iona and Staffa. Other activities found locally include go-karting, riding, sailing, fishing and golf.
