From the cottage, wild-water swimming around Clach Thoull at Airds Bay offers a refreshing challenge, while kayaking or canoeing in front of the house opens up endless possibilities paddle up or down the loch, circumnavigate Castle Stalker, explore the shores of Lismore, or follow the coastline to the Isle of Eriska. Cyclists are equally well catered for, with the option to take bikes on the ferry to Lismore, cycle up to Appin, or join the renowned route north towards Fort William or south to Oban. Tralee Beach, the forest trails of Sutherland’s Grove, and the scenic Appin loop past North Shian are all excellent local routes that return you neatly to Creag Bheag.

The surrounding area offers much to explore: visit the iconic Castle Stalker, enjoy the coastal walks around Port Appin, take a day trip to Oban for seafood and ferries to the Isles, or head to Glencoe for dramatic scenery and hillwalking.
