Situated just a scenic 2½ miles’ drive from the busy seaside town of Oban, the owners have equipped Maggie’s Cabin to provide all the comforts of home, with underfloor heating, to keep you super cosy all year round. Enjoy the treats in the welcome pack and snuggle up in luxury bathrobes and slippers provided for your stay. The welcome pack includes locally handmade chocolates, 2 small bottles of Prosecco, crisps, our own free range eggs, morning rolls, teas, coffees and hot chocolate, milk, sugar and chilled water. Also included for your pampering are luxury body wash, shampoo, conditioner and hand wash and sanitiser from the Highland Soap Company.
Maggie’s Cabin has been fitted out thoughtfully to maximise space and is completely open plan with a separate sleeping area featuring a comfy double bed plus a convenient sofa bed. There’s plenty of space to relax on the comfy seating and enjoy watching the wall-mounted Smart TV or listen to tunes through the blue-tooth speaker. A large patio door opens out onto an enclosed veranda with enclosed south-facing decking beyond, perfect for watching the sun rise and set or relaxing in the evening gazing up at the stars. Ideal for walkers and cyclists, the rural lane network forms part of the National Cycle Route 78 which stretches all the way from Oban to Fort William but which also leads to the stunning Glen Lonan to the East, Kilmore and Loch Nell to the south and Connel to the north. Immerse yourself in the soft sounds of grazing animals and birdsong, and with minimal light pollution, ideal for star gazing on those beautiful clear nights. The road towards Oban winds through the hills past Glencruitten Estate, where there are some lovely walks with views over the town and countryside, a golf course and riding stables. Drive across the Connel Bridge over the Falls of Lora to the village of Benderloch, home of the lovely sandy Tralee beach with cafés and shops.
A bustling west coast harbour town, Oban has lots going on for the visitor at any time of the year. Central for touring Argyll and known as the ’Gateway to the Isles’, with ferries leaving daily to many of the islands, such as Mull, Iona, Staffa and Lismore. In keeping with its reputation as the seafood capital of Scotland, there are some excellent restaurants, cafés and pubs nearby, in which to relax after a pleasant day out exploring the wonderful scenery and visiting some of the interesting attractions which Argyll has to offer.
