The town of Gatehouse of Fleet is situated on the Solway Firth in Dumfries and Galloway. The town offers several shops including a small supermarket, chemist, bank and post office, along with two book/gift shops, a kilt making centre and two cafes. All four pubs in the town have restaurant facilities.

Had some minor issues when arriving due to a booking error which in no way was the owners fault. The owners sorted the problem swiftly with minimal fuss. The accommodation was impeccably clean and spacious. The location is great for a chilled break and the hot tub is also a nice way to relax at the end of the day. Highly recommended

you could need. It was also so nice to be able to sit in the hot tub and see the stars. Lovely peaceful location and only 10 minutes to a great wee beach (which we even had all to ourselves when we went) or a lovely walk in the woods at Gatehouse of Fleet. Both our dogs are rescues so we like to take them places they can go loads of nice walks and enjoy themselves and they loved it here. The enclosed garden space was fab as we've been to dog-friendly properties that didn't have that before and it makes it much less relaxing when you have to worry about a dog wandering off! Here we could sit in the hot tub and let the dogs just potter about the garden to their heart's content. We also got engaged during our stay so that made it even more special. We'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing break to enjoy some nice walks, cooking some nice meals and just chilling out!

The beds/mattresses are old and really uncomfortable. So much so that we only stayed 2 of the 3 nights booked. In general the accommodation is tired and in need of refurbishment. The surrounding area (especially at the rear) is untidy. All-in-all disappointing.
