Those looking for a more urban experience can journey to Dumfries, Scotland's oldest town, where you can explore the Robert Burns House and Centre, take a stroll along the River Nith, and enjoy the Michelin Star restaurant of 1610. At Hollys Hideaway, you can experience a little bit of everything that Scotland has to offer.

Spreyton is a small, rural village situated to the northeast of Dartmoor, in the centre of Devon. Spreyton is famous for its connection to the tale of ‘Old Uncle Tom Cobley and all’ who came from, and is thought to be buried in Spreyton. The village has a pub telling the story and serves good ale and the community shop sells local produce. There are some excellent countryside walks in the area including the Two Moors Way, a long distance path through stunning landscapes linking Dartmoor and Exmoor. The nearby towns of Chagford and Okehampton offer a wealth of amenities, and the market town of Crediton is well worth a visit for its attractive main street offering a good mix of local produce, shops and a magnificent 15th century church, plus nearby there are many pretty villages and farm shops. A stay in this beautiful unspoilt area of Devon gives plenty of opportunity for horse riding, fishing, golf and walking.

Owners, Vicky and Colin, are a lovely couple. On hand if needed with great advise on where to eat and the best routes to take, but also respect your privacy. The location is perfect for exploring the left and right of Dumfries and Galloway and is warm and welcoming to return home to. Everything has been thought of. The compact kitchen area has ample utensils and equipment, I did not find anything missing. The bed is so comfy, the bathroom a delight with complimentary products and warm fluffy towels and a very generous welcome basket awaited our arrival. You won't be disappointed staying here! Amazing, thank you!
