Bathroom: with shower over bath, WC and wash basin. First Floor:
Bedroom 1: with double bed and lovely views over garden and open countryside
Bedroom 2: with two single beds and lovely open views of the garden and countryside beyond. ( An additional z bed is available for this room, no extra charge, bedding supplied please request on booking.
Annexe: for extra storage.. All fuel, (initial basket only for the stove) bed linen and towels included. Wi-fi connection. Full size Cot, stair gate and High chair.. Partially enclosed garden and furniture and BBQ. Storage within annexe for outdoor equipment. Shared use of owner’s laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Owners are happy to accept a delivery from a major supermarket prior to arrival. Off-road parking for two cars.. This lovely stone-built, light-filled and spacious cottage has delightful pastoral views from every window. Nestled in a quiet rural corner of the Cairn Valley, with the benefit of delightful walks in every direction, yet only 15 minutes from Dumfries and 30 minutes from the lovely beaches and coves of the Solway coast. This charming property is just the ticket for that much dreamed of carefree and relaxing holiday- the perfect spot to unwind and recharge batteries.
The cottage is a haven for wildlife, regular visitors to the garden include red squirrels, deer, woodpeckers, nuthatch and many more. Red Kites and Buzzards frequently soar in the skies above. Scaurbrae has no light pollution so the clear night skies are amazing. Over 150 years ago this lovely cottage would have been home to one of the many estate workers employed to work on the Speddoch Estate. It has now been lovingly restored offering every modern comfort whilst retaining a charming rustic feel. There are so many delightful attractions it would be impossible to mention them all. These are all beautifully packaged within this relatively undiscovered and temperate county with some 200 miles of stunning coastline to the south and west.
