The town is a magnet for artists, and you can spend time exploring local galleries or following the Arts and Crafts Trail. You’ll be within easy reach of some truly stunning beaches, including the secluded, unspoilt Carrick Beach (9 miles) – the perfect place to get away from it all and embrace nature. Heading inland, you’ll find the historic town of Castle Douglas (9.5 miles), known for its fine array of independent eateries showcasing local produce. For outdoor enthusiasts, Galloway Forest Park is 20 miles away, where you’ll find magnificent mountain scenery, serene lochs, and endless walking/cycling trails.

The four-storey townhouse features original wooden floorboards, ornamental fireplaces, and characterful sash windows framing views of MacLellan’s Castle and the vibrant quayside. Enter the holiday home via the tiled entrance porch, where you can store coats and boots, before heading upstairs to the first floor. Here, you’ll find an inviting lounge with comfortable seating and a Smart TV for enjoying family movie nights at the end of a busy day. There’s also a study on this floor, with views of the chapel, for those needing to catch up with work whilst away. The social hub of the house is a spacious kitchen/diner where you can prepare delicious feasts for the group and all eat together at the elegant dining table. Just off the kitchen/diner is a small utility room and completing this level is a gorgeous family bathroom with an original cast-iron, roll-top bath. Three beautiful bedrooms are located upstairs on the second floor. Choose from two delightful king-size bedrooms or a cosy double. Rounding off this level is a handy WC.
