Rest the mind and body at tranquil Castle Creavie. Peacefully situated with stunning views over the Galloway hills this former farm steading has been converted to provide accommodation for up to six. Located on a working farm, close to the harbour town of Kirkcudbright the Steading is full of charm and character with oak floors, real flame stove and French opening balcony windows. Guests are welcome to observe the daily life of the farm, and enjoy the signposted farm walks, there is always a field to play in and walk the dog.

The Artists town of Kirkcudbright is a short drive away. Here you will find many interesting independent shops and art galleries hidden along its narrow closes. Broughton House and Garden, a National Trust for Scotland property are well worth a visit. Close by is Kirkcudbright Wildlife & Conservation Park with a wide variety of endangered animals. For the young at heart Cream O'Galloway is within a 20 minute drive, not only do they produce organic ice cream but have an extensive adventure playground for all ages plus other activities. Nearby in Twynholm is The Cocoa Bean Factory where children can participate in chocolate workshops, there are also indoor & outdoor play areas. (The hot chocolate is a must!) For the more adventurous Laggan Outdoor and Loch Ken Activity Centre offer land and water based activities. At Laggan you will find one of the longest zip wires in Europe.

For those who simply want to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings there are plenty of opportunities for walking, be it hill cliff top or forest. Wildlife surrounds the cottage, you can relax on the spacious patio and enjoy the tranquil setting with outstanding views and sunsets and the varied bird life. Although not within the Dark Skies Park, star gazing is outstanding at Castle Creavie as there is very little light pollution. Sandy beaches are within easy reach at The Dhoon, Brighouse Bay and Sandgreen.

Free-range eggs, honey and homemade bread is available on request. A home baked tea tray will be left ready for your arrival.

Short breaks are welcome but must fall between Saturday - Saturday

A 10% discount will be applied to all full weeks booked for parties of 2 or less.

For bookings of 2 consecutive weeks a 10% discount will be applied (offers cannot be used in conjunction with each other)

Accommodation for 6 on two floors: Ground Floor; Open plan Living room/Kitchen/Dining area; Two steps up to King size bedroom (can become twin) with ensuite shower room with wash basin & WC. First Floor: 2 Twin bedrooms (both with zip n link beds to make King size beds); Bathroom.

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Refundable Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver of £18, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by the property manager to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by the property manager within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by the property manager and due for payment within 14 days of notification.
