This cottage is ideal for two people and a well-behaved dog and a good base from which to explore Dumfries and Galloway. The hard copy user's guide in the cottage includes much useful information including a number of walks. The furniture is not new but is all comfortable and functional. The double bed is particularly comfortable. We were there is a summer heatwave and the cottage was surprisingly cool. On the one cool day the heating came on automatically. We only used the garden in the early morning and late afternoon but at both times it was possible to sit in a suntrap.

Lovely cosy cottage with a fabulous garden. I felt welcome and at home with my two labs as soon as I walked through the door. The village is very interesting and the locals are friendly and welcoming. Lovely walks and Monreith has the most beautiful amazing beach. The weather was beautiful and we spent lots of time in the garden. Best holiday thank you for having us x

Brae Cottage is homely, characterful and very well equipped. Sun streamed into the bedroom in a morning, perfect for a lazy coffee and the garden was a joy, bird filled, dog safe and a great setting for an evening drink. The village is friendly, the local pub having recently reopened, and has its own charm but also provides a good base for exploring other local gems. Its owners were lovely, helpful, so friendly. It would be a joy to return.
