Any time of year will be special at none more so in the evening while you watch the sun setting over the bay. Situated quietly on a working farm and offering a luxurious getaway from the large open plan living/dining/kitchen featuring all modern appliances to the bedroom with sumptuous bed and luxury en-suite shower room. The area surrounding is breathtaking from the rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches and inland the Galloway Forest Park, Britian’s largest forest park with 300 square miles of wild beauty and where you will find the world renowned 7Stanes Mountain Bike Trail at Kirroughtree.
A short 5-minute drive from The Seaview Snug will take you to the Isle of Whithorn an attractive little harbour village where you can sail, fish or just sit and relax overlooking the bay while perhaps enjoying a meal or glass of wine in the pub or tea room. Visit Wigtown, which has officially been designated as Scotland’s National Book Town with a wide range of book related businesses, a book lovers haven. The larger town of Newton Stewart, known as the Gateway to the Galloway Hills, also has many excellent shops and places to eat. Further along the coast visit the many pretty little ports like Sandhead and Portpatrick, or visit Scotland’s most southerly point, the rspb Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve, where thousands of seabird’s nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. Return to The Seaview Snug and relax in the hot tub where you can marvel at the dark starry skies. Beach 3 miles.

We travelled back to Glasgow via Stranraer after an unpleasant driveGirvan to Newton Stewart. Nice river walk from Sainsbury and Aldi Supermarkets there. Garlieston is nearest village and Harbour Hotel did excellent meals. Saw Isle of Man from Isle of Whithorn, visited Wigtown to see martyrs graves and memorial. Good Coop mini market . Enjoyed hot tub once we were shown to fold the furthest away half to the pod and then lift the metal frame to stick both halves next to the pod. That reveals the control panel near the fence which needs to be dry. Play Bluetooth music as loud as you like. Tub is always 40 degrees heated by self generated power. Walk down to the derelict cottage in the morning to see deer and in the afternoon see the butterflies. It could do with a chest of drawers and pair of bedside tables but otherwise had all you would need.

A superb location for total isolation and peace. A well equipped home with all the features that you would expect any local amenities were at small fishing villages a few miles away in either direction ( Garlieston & Whithorn)The sea view from the front was a bonus . All in all, a great place to unwind, relax and forget about the world .
