The ground floor unveils an inviting open-plan living space, adorned with tasteful furnishings that seamlessly blend modern comforts with a touch of coastal charm. Sunlight dances through the patio doors, beckoning guests to step outside and relish in the enclosed garden, offering a private sanctuary to bask in the fresh sea breeze. There are two bedrooms on the upper floor which exude warmth and relaxation. This retreat warmly welcomes your furry companions, and you can embark on leisurely strolls through the village and down to the inviting beach, allowing your four-legged friend to revel in the natural beauty as much as you do.
Portpatrick is a charming and pretty fishing port, with a small sandy beach and harbour as the focal point of the village. Take a stroll along the harbour and stop off at one of the waterfront pubs for a drink or a meal whilst enjoying the sea view! There are lots of walks right on your doorstep, and Portpatrick is the ’Gateway to the Southern Upland Way’, a 212-mile coast to coast walk from Portpatrick to Cockburnspath in the east. Join the route on the cliffs above the harbour and walk along the coast enjoying the beautiful views over the sea to Ireland.
There are lots of other pretty little ports and bays to discover in the area too. Killantringan Bay is a short drive outside Portpatrick, and a short walk from the village will bring you to Laird’s Bay. There is a host of other local attractions including the rspb Scotland Mull of Galloway Nature Reserve, where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world renowned Logan Botanic Garden, Castle Kennedy Gardens and Glenwhan. The area is a cyclist’s paradise with the famous 7Stanes world class mountain biking trails within easy reach.

Driftwood cottage is excellent. On the hill above the town centre but steps close by which lead right down to the centre. Convenient for walking down in the evening to eat in any of the restaurants. The house had everything we needed and it was very cosy and comfortable. Thankyou

Such a fabulous find! It's cozy, clean, very comfortable. Owners are quick to respond to any queries. I would 100% recommend this cottage.Portpatrick is a cute village with all the required amenities and nice, friendly pubs. Stranraer is only a 15-minute drive away, where you can get everything you need. There are lots of great beaches to take the dogs for a good run.

Beautifully presented 2 bed, spacious cottage. Everything clean and tidy. Has a washing machine, big fridge and a dishwasher. Owner's attention to detail is very good, supplying all the basics to get started: washing up supplies, biscuits, tea, etc. only 5 mins walk down to portpatrick port which has pubs and a couple of shops for supplies. Made a super base from which to explore the area.
