Situated in the Wanlockhead, Scotland's highest village, and offering commanding views over the dramatic Lowther Hills, this lovely semi-detached cottage provides pleasing accommodation for a family wanting to explore the countryside of the Southern Scottish Uplands. The entrance to the property lies on the first floor, which also houses the large family bathroom and a cosy twin bedroom. Down a flight of stairs, on the ground floor, is the remainder of the accommodation, the first room of which being a large double room featuring a luxurious super king-size bed and an en-suite shower room. Further down the hall is a spacious, open-plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen and sociable dining space at one side and a sitting area supplied with comfortable sofas, a wood burning stove and a Smart TV at the other end. A patio door at one side of the room opens out onto a private decking area, furnished and offering a fantastic spot to relax and take in the spectacular views of the village and surrounding hills. The village of Wanlockhead offers a peaceful retreat in the countryside of Dumfries and Galloway. It has a village pub called the Wanlockhead Inn that serves a selection of delicious meals as well as its own premium ales, created by the owner at the Inn's microbrewery, known as the Lola Rose Brewery.

There are plenty of things to do in the area, from visiting the Museum of Lead Mining to following one of the many cycling and walking routes. A delightful cottage, 4 Mountain Lodge boasts comfortable accommodation for a family looking to get out and about and explore the beautiful Scottish countryside.

Located within the Lowther Hills, the village of Wanlockhead presents plenty of opportunities for walkers and cyclists with Mennock Pass nearby and the 212 mile-long Southern Upland Way passing through the settlement. The Leadhills and Wanlockhead Light Railway is open to the public over some weekends during summer.

Off-road parking for one car in front of garage number 4, with additional off-street parking at the top of the track.

2 Well behaved pets allowed, which must be kept on a lead at all times at the property and in the village due to free roaming sheep.
