Located in scenic Dumfries and Galloway, 7 miles from Newton Stewart, it has a good range of shops and eateries. Stroll 1.5 miles to the Bladnoch Distillery to tour the 200-year-old premises and sample a wee dram of Scottish whisky. Pull on your hiking boots and head out on a circular 5.5-mile walk partly alongside the scenic Bladnoch River. Hop in the car and venture 8.5 miles to the fringes of the magnificent Galloway Forest Park to explore its myriad of footpaths and walking routes. Discover the picturesque coastline, including the spectacular, wide, sandy beaches at Garlieston and Rigg Bay, 8 miles away.
Return from your exciting excursions to let yourself into this enticing cottage from the street. Find yourselves in a small vestibule where you can slide off your shoes and wander on through into the lounge. This enveloping space has a stylish yet homely feel, with interesting vintage-style furnishings and feature stonework. Lay a fire in the hearth, then choose a book from the shelves and recline on the long green sofa in its gorgeous glow. Find your current boxset on the Smart TV and enjoy an episode or two before dinner. The kitchen, to the rear of the cottage, has been fitted out with everything you need to help you whip up romantic meals for two with the delicious local ingredients you have shopped for. Open the glass French windows in here on sunny days. Make fresh coffee in the machine when it is chilly to sip back through in the lounge beside the fire. A separate dining room is the perfect place for hearty breakfasts and candle-lit celebrations. You will also find more books, a radio and a record player in here for your entertainment. Also downstairs is the shower room, where you can refresh yourselves before and after your adventures. When you are ready to turn in, climb the stairs to your sumptuous super-king-size bed, which has the convenience of an en-suite WC, for a superb night’s sleep.
Step out into the courtyard garden to relax in the sunshine with a cup of tea and a slice of Scottish shortbread.
