The open-plan layout creates a sociable flow between the living, dining, and kitchen spaces, ideal for quiet mornings, cosy evenings, or unwinding after a day of exploring East Lothian. Quality furnishings and soft, neutral décor enhance the lodge’s peaceful feel, while the bedroom offers an inviting haven complete with plush bedding for a restful night’s sleep. Outdoors, a private seating area provides the perfect setting for morning coffees or sunset views, all while enjoying the tranquillity of the surrounding hills. Every detail has been crafted to provide comfort, convenience, and a sense of escape, making Fa’side Lodge a charming base for couples, solo travellers, and anyone seeking a serene retreat.
Fa’side Lodge sits beside the historic Fa’side Hill, just above Trenant, offering sweeping views toward the Firth of Forth, the East Lothian coastline, and the rolling farmland that surrounds the area. This elevated position provides a strong sense of privacy and tranquillity while remaining close to local footpaths, cycle routes, and the charming towns of Tranent, Musselburgh, and Haddington. The nearby Fa’side Castle adds a fascinating layer of history: it played a significant role during the 16th century and is famously connected to Mary Queen of Scots. On the eve of the Battle of Pinkie in 1547, Mary is believed to have sought refuge at Fa’side, taking shelter within its walls before the conflict spread across the region. The castle was badly damaged during the battle, but its restored form stands today as a striking reminder of Scotland’s turbulent past. Staying at Fa’side Lodge places you within this historically rich landscape, offering not only beautiful scenery and peaceful surroundings but also a genuine sense of connection to Scotland’s royal heritage.
