Head into Edinburgh to visit the famous castle and the National Museum of Scotland. Climb Arthur’s Seat to take in the panoramic views. Potter in the delightful shopping streets and dine out in an array of restaurants. Head to the beach at Whitehouse Bay to walk along the shores and look out over the Firth of Forth. From Cramond Beach, 6 miles away, you can walk over the causeway at low tide to Cramond Island. Spend a day in Linlithgow, where you can see the ruins of the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and stroll beside the loch.
